Why Extreme Hoarding Cleanouts Is Not Listed with the BBB

We occasionally get asked why ExtremeHoardingCleanouts.com isn’t listed or accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The reason is simple: the BBB is an outdated system that no longer reflects how customers evaluate trustworthy companies today.

1. BBB accreditation is not free — it’s a paid membership. Each regional BBB office sets its own prices, and the annual fees can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars depending on company size and location. For a business like ours that serves clients in multiple states, accreditation would require paying separate fees to numerous BBB offices across the country. The total could easily reach tens of thousands of dollars per year — money that’s better spent improving our services and supporting our cleaning crews directly.  This savings also allows us to charge you less money as well.  
2. It’s also worth noting that more than 80% of U.S. businesses are not BBB-accredited, including many major national brands. In other words, most people use non-BBB companies every single day — and funny enough, many people even work for one without realizing it! (We’ll pause while you check your employer’s BBB listing… don’t worry, we won’t tell.) The truth is, the BBB badge doesn’t determine reliability or success — excellent service and satisfied customers do.
3. Today’s customers care more about transparency than old-school logos. Real trust comes from verified Google Reviews, Yelp ratings, and word-of-mouth — not a membership certificate hanging on a wall. That’s where people actually look before hiring a service like ours, and that’s where we focus our energy.
